From Galway/the South: Follow signs for Castlebar/Headford/N84, in Headford go straight through the lights onto the R334. In Cross continue forward in direction of Neale/Ballinrobe for 2 km  – Before Neale village take right turn onto R345 for Cong – Continue just over 1km and Ashfield House is on your right

From Ballinrobe/the North:    In Ballinrobe town follow sign for Cong R345 (junction just after Flannerys Bar – take a left turn signed Cong R345 continue for  over 5 km – straight through Neale village – continue forward  take first Right turn signposted Cong R345 – continue just over 1km and Ashfield House is on your right

From Connemara/the West: Take the R345 through Cong village past the Cong National School on the left and continue forward and  directly opposite the Ashford Castle Entrance Gate/Towers  take a left onto  R345 signposted for Neale /Ballinrobe.   Drive just over 2km and you will see Ashfield House on the left

ANSWERS TO COMMON QUESTIONS

Do you live on site?
Yes we do – Ashfield House is where we are fortunate to call our “Home” My husband Paraic , a carpenter by trade built the house in 1994 and we opened our doors to welcoming guests in the Summer of 1998 when our daughter Orla was just 6 weeks old. Crazy times !!!!
What payment methods are accepted ?
Bills can be settled on the morning of your departure (or earlier if that is your preference). Payment can be made in cash. Revolut is accepted over phone or a bank transfer can be arranged but must be done in advance of your stay. but please be aware that there are no credit/debit processing facilities available at our home. Guests travelling with Travel Agent Vouchers need to present their voucher on arrival.
What is the best and cheapest way to book a room at Ashfield House B&B ?
For the best available rate always book direct by phoning us on +353 872770599 or sending us an email at ashfieldhouse8@gmail.com Booking our B&B (or indeed any other b&B) through any other third party site/channel will unfortunately result in you paying extra (booking fees etc)
What time is check in?
Check in is after 4pm and before 6pm – You are more than welcome to stop off earlier than that – collect your key and drop off your bag or if you are arriving later please make contact and let us know.
What time is check out?
Rooms need to be vacated by 11am on the morning of your departure to allow for sufficient changeover time for our next guests.
How far is the B&B from town?
We are minutes by car to Cong village and a short journey to Connemara, Galway city, Joyce Country.
Do we need a car to get around?
Whilst a car is recommended to fully explore the region, we can provide storage for bikes and other modes of transport. We also can provide information for local taxi companies and chauffeur service providers.
How can I get from the International Airport to the B&B?
Knock International Airport is 40 minutes from Ashfield B&B, Shannon less than 2 hours and Dublin Airport 3 hours.
How many nights should I stay in Cong?
Frequently we have guests on departure who regret not having stayed longer in Cong , – ideally a 2 night stay but because of Congs location within a 45 minute drive of so much you could easily base yourself in Cong and find things to do for a 3 or 4 night stay or even longer.
